3. There's n= o point to worrying about total cost of ownership or longevity if you can&#= 39;t meet the initial cost of ownership hurdle.

4.= Sometimes it can be reasonable, and even cost effective, to buy cheap hard= ware and treat it as disposable.

Frankly, he want s m= ine (but doesn=E2=80=99t have the funds).

Btw, the motherboards on these machines are as follows:
1. Intel core2 duo cpu on an ASUS IL0-9 pro with 32 GB ram (DDR3 800 Mhz FS= B) and 500 GB HDD with a 32 GB Nvidia GT-9600 video card.

2. AMD X2 CPU running at 3 Ghz with 32 GB ram (same as above) on a Tyan Mot= herboard using a Nvidia 9800-GTX 32 GB card. Also has 500 GB storage.

His machine?
An intel i5 4 core CPU (2.66 Ghz), 4 GB ram, 256 GB HDD and the built in in= tel graphics using shared ram. It=E2=80=99s your basic E-machine brand.

So, older isn=E2=80=99t necessarily a bad thing if it is built up right.
So, if you are going to acquire a laptop, make it as future proof as you ca= n. Sure, you will pay through the nose now, but will still have a beast lat= er. :)
